MMM19: Saratov is joining the global initiative
Saratov annually takes part in the global action May Measurement Month since 2017.
In May 2019 250 citizens of different city's districts were scrinned. Those areas have diverse ecological conditions: noise level, oxygen level, greenspaces). The tests were taken in the public areas: parks, shopping malls. All participants were not only tested for high blood pressure but also received consultations and printed materials on improving their lifestyles to make it more healthy.
Screening was traditionally performed by the students of the Saratov State Medical University. Students of the Ecology Department of the Saratov State Technical University also took part. The initiative was supported by the Saratov RSC Regional Branch and Working Group of Young Cardiologists and Research Institute of Cardiology.
The results of the screening will be applied to study the impact of environment conditions on hypertension risk.
