A new European Heart Journal International Editorial Board Member

Professor Evgeny Shlyakhto, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC, President of the Russian Society of Cardiology joined the European Heart Journal (EHJ) as an editorial board member in January 2014. Evgeny Shlyakhto is also Editor-in-Chief of the Russian Journal of Cardiology and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Arrhythmology Bulletin. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Russian version of the ESC Textbook of Cardiovascular Medicine (2011).

Since 2011, Evgeny Shlyakhto has been President of the Russian Society of Cardiology. During his presidency, he has strongly promoted the epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases in his country and contributed much to the in?uence of the Russian Society of Cardiology worldwide and within the European Society of Cardiology. He has set multiple collaborations with European teams and ?rst established joint sessions with ESC National Cardiac Societies within the annual Russian National Congress of Cardiology.
