Go Red for Women: Results
“Go Red for Women” - social initiative aimed to focus attention of Russian women on prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Project is realized within the social and educational programme by Bayer – “Life Pulse”.
Traditionally, the Red Dress is a central mark of the project. It is a symbol of anxiety that is caused by the growing of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality all over the world. In Russia this problem is beyond medicine, now it is a really critical social disaster.
19 Russian celebrities supported initiative, thus expressed their concern about increase of cardiovascular diseases.
In 2015 Go Red for Women made it to Novosibirsk and Samara. There were opened street installations with posters of 12 Russian celebrities and doctors in red dresses. Each woman addressed to all Russian women with personal call and advice on how to protect a heart. The main goal of it is to remind that cardiovascular diseases are the number one death cause in Russia, attract women's attention to the problem and popularize preventive care and healthy lifestyle. Information support was provided in both cities by conducting press conferences with leading experts in cardiology and representatives of Bayer company.
On June 8, 2015 in Novosibirsk – the third Russian city by population – was opened a photo installation “Women of Russia say “YES” to healthy heart!”. On the same day at he city hall press conference was held. Supported by the Russian Society of Cardiology, social and educational programme “Life Pulse” and Bayer company it gathered experts in the field: Prof. Natalia Yarokhno, Dr. Marina Fomicheva and Svetlana Meleshko (Bayer).
On June 15, 2015 in Samara a similar exhibition was opened to attract attention of people to the problem of cardiovascular diseases. And also a press conference was held with participation of Dr. Anna Kontsevaya (RSC), Prof. Dmitry Duplyakov, Dr. Alexander Muravets and Svetlana Meleshko (Bayer).
